Maria Virginia Galletti graduated in Industrial and Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Bologna in March 2019.
Since then, she has been involved within several biology related projects promoted by the Agriculture department of the Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria. Since January 2025, she collaborates with the DICEAM department through a scholarship in the context of the VONGOLA project.
Her core research interest concerns the aquaculture techniques and their possible integration with other floating offshore farms, including the wind ones. In the context of the VONGOLA project, she has studied in detail the longline offshore mussel farming technique from a multi-disciplinary perspective, including biological, engineering, and environmental aspects. Furthermore, she has supported the design and the demonstration of a scaled prototype system installed at sea in the NOEL laboratory, including scuba diving activities.
