Carlo Ruzzo is a post-doc of Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria (Italy). He gratuaded in 2013 in Civil Engineering, and took the PhD in Ocean Engineering in 2018 in the same institution.
His research interests range over various branches of the ocean engineering, especially focusing on floating structure dynamics. His main contributions include: numerical studies on floating offshore wind turbines and multi-purpose floating structures in regular, irregular, and extreme wave conditions; physical modelling and testing of floating structures in indoor and outdoor environments, including dynamic identification in irregular wave conditions; development and numerical investigation of damping systems for motion control of floating structures.
Other relevant research interests concern the contribution to multi-disciplinary analyses on the assessment of social, environmental, and economic impact of the emerging floating structure concepts, including floating aquaculture plants, multi-purpose floating structures, and floating cities.
His research activity is demonstrated by the publication of several scientific articles in prestigious journals and international conferences, the participation in several national and international projects, and the collaborations with various other scholars from prestigious institutions worldwide.
