U-OWC plant and air turbine for the production of electrical power from sea waves – POSEIDONE

A small-scale field experiment on REWEC3 caisson model has been executed at the Natural Ocean Engineering Laboratory to test the conversion of wave energy and the production of electrical power. The plant has been equipped with a 2 kW Wells turbine model designed by the project partners. The first small-scale field validation of the REWEC3 – turbine dynamic model has been used for predicting system response in real sea wave conditions. The final goal of the project has been to obtain electrical power from the REWEC3 – Wells turbine plant.
