The aim of the action is to implement and demonstrate on field a floating integrated acquisition station for the measurement of sea wave, wind, and other parameters at sea. This innovative station overcomes some economic and technical limitations of the traditional met-ocean and wave buoys, by providing comprehensive yet flexible measuring capabilities. Its structural simplicity and solidity, along with the functional modularity, allow the station adaptability to a wide range of scenarios. The station can measure variegate parameters. The most fundamental are: full set of wave parameters, including the direct measurement of wave elevation in the time domain, wave head of pressure, wind speed and direction, air temperature. Further parameters measurable include, e.g., current velocity and direction, air and water quality parameters, underwater noise. In the context of this action, field activity carried out at NOEL site include the experimental testing and demonstration of an acquisition station prototype, installed on a steel spar hull.
