I am a Civil Professional Engineer, graduated in 2005 at the Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria, where I got also my Ph.D. in Ocean Engineering within a joint program with Rice Unviersity (Houston, Texas). My Ph.D thesis’ topic was about stochastic dynamics of floating platforms for oil and gas. During my Ph.D. course I was awarded with an internship at BP America in 2007.
In 2012 I held a Post-Doc Position at Instituto Superior Tecnico of Lisbon (Centec) when I started working in the marine renewable sector.
I have been working for Tecnalia R&I since 2013, within a Marie Curie Fellowship -first- and then as a Senior Researcher. My duties are mostly scientific and technical in the field of energy in amrine environment (offshore wind, wave and tidal energy). I am part of the team within the EU-funded project DTOcean, as well as Nautilus, and I also took part to the Regional funded project Uhindar.
In 2015, I was one of the organizers of the Invited Session “Computational Methods in Support of Ocean Energy Harvesting” within the International Conference Marine 2015.
I am naturally inclided towards team work, both as a leader of a research group and a part of the team; neverthelss, I am able to provide solutions to a wide range of problems individually and plan work efficiently, focusing on the targets and respecting deadlines.
