MARINET: REWEC3-PTO Electrical System Optimization

Project description

European Research Project “REWEC3-PTO Electrical System Optimization”, project proposal number 236, 4th call for free-of-charge access to 17 specific MARINET infrastructures "MARINET - Marine Renewables Infrastructure Network for Emerging Energy Technologies" concerning the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Union. Host structure and project partners: TECNALIA (Spain). The overall objective of the project is to identify the optimal PTO system associated with a certain REWEC3 caisson. The objective is accomplished by comparing the performance of several PTO configurations (considering different fixed turbine rotational speeds) driven by inputs pertaining to a REWEC3 exposed to a variety of sea states. All the staff of the NOEL research group is involved in the project.
