GIAN course ‘Extreme Waves in Ocean Engineering’

The Global Initiative for Academic Networks (GIAN) Program in higher education is a program of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, of the Indian Government, to invite accomplished scientists and entrepreneurs living abroad, to give short courses at premier Institutes in India.

The GIAN course ‘Extreme Waves in Ocean Engineering’ will be given by Professor Felice Arena (Director of the NOEL), at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India, in collaboration with Professors S.A. Sannasiraj (course coordinator) V. Sundar and K. Murali.
The course reinforces the cooperation between Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria, Italy & IIT Madras, India.

Participants could be Civil/Mechanical/ Marine engineer or Naval architect interested in understanding ocean waves; Oceanographer or Physics background interested to learn theoretical basics of extreme ocean waves; student or faculty from academic institution interested in learning how to initiate a course or to obtain a research theme in Extreme Ocean Waves.
Duration: 21st March 2016 to 1st April 2016.
